FAQ

faqQ. When replacing the glass do you use double sided tape or glue?

Well we use neither. We use special glue called Liquid Optically Clear Adhesive also known as LOCA glue. The reason we use this glue is because it allows your glass to stick to your touch screen properly. For companies that use just the double-sided tape, the screen can easily peel off with the strength of your fingers. In addition, the resolution of the screen just looks funky and unclear. Using the LOCA glue it become more expensive for shops; however, we would rather your screen look new and beautiful rather than just not cracked. Lastly with the LOCA glue you get the same touch sensitivity as the original screen so you won’t have to tap harder or press down to click something.

Q. How long does the process take?

Since we are doing it with the LOCA glue we need to put the screen under a special UV light to dry the glue. For the glue to dry properly we need your phone for about an hour to allow the screen to settle in properly and look the way it is supposed to.

Q. What if my screen starts to peel off?

Although we have never seen such an issue because of the method we use to complete the repair; if such a thing does happen, bring it back and we’ll fix it for you on the spot.

Q. Some people say you should change the whole screen rather than just the glass because it causes problems.

Usually those that tell you such things are the ones who cannot successfully complete the glass replacement process. If any company you are taking your phone to has experts that know what they are doing, there is almost no risk in replacing the glass. We take out all your internal parts so that the heat used to replace the screen does not damage them. In addition, we use chemicals and materials to clean the screen without damaging it or peeling off any layers from the screen underneath.

Q. Why should I replace just my glass and not the whole front assembly?

The world revolves around money, right? Why not keep an extra $100 in that pocket of yours (or bank account for those who are using a credit card). Replacing the glass might take an extra 45 minutes, but it saves you about 50% on the cost of the repair. If you really want we can replace the entire glass and LCD assembly but its not recommended unless you need to.
